A Preschool Dedicated to the Well-Being of Children in Dawson Creek

Miss Patti’s Preschool was founded in 2014. It is located in a house that was purchased for the sole purpose of establishing a preschool in Dawson Creek. We pride ourselves in providing the best preparation for kindergarten and future learning with an emergent curriculum and a safe, fun environment. We believe that the basis of successful learning begins with a strong and healthy relationship between educators and the child; that's why we ensure that we provide an environment that facilitates the forging of strong connections between the kids and their educators.

Our Team

Miss Patti

Miss Patti graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Education in 1992. She went on to teach in Manitoba as a substitute. The scarcity of full-time teaching jobs in Manitoba led Patti to return to school and complete her Early Childhood Education degree in Special Needs. Patti went on to direct a daycare in the core area of Winnipeg for 4 years before moving to a French immersion daycare/nursery for another 4 years.

An opportunity arose for her in 2002 in Northern BC to work as a primary school teacher at a First Nations School. Even though it was a challenging job, she enjoyed every minute of it. The year 2005 found Patti in Atlin, a very remote town in the northwestern corner of BC. She continued to work as a substitute teacher and had her two boys there in 2006 and 2007.

In 2008, Patti landed with her family in Dawson Creek. Being very community-oriented, she got involved with Success by 6, the WOW bus, volunteered as a preschool teacher at Devereaux School and worked there as a substitute teacher. In 2011, she launched Notre Dame After School Program and taught there for a year as an ESL teacher.

For the 2013/2014 school year, Patti was the host of Tremblay StrongStart and it was here that she rediscovered her love for working with the younger age group. She combined her love for teaching with the importance of early learning and decided to purchase a house and run a preschool from there. This same preschool that you have decided to choose for your child. She is very excited about this new journey and happy you chose to join her!

Miss Ashley, ECEA

Hello my name is Ashley Foden, or as the kids call me, Miss Ashley. I am originally from Kelowna B.C. but have made Dawson Creek my home for the last 10 years. I have always known that I wanted to find a career where I could have a positive impact on the world. I first knew I wanted to work with children when I was in Grade 12. I was in a class where we were responsible for running a preschool program out of our high school. I have now been in this field for over 15 years and have had my assistant E.C.E certification since 2006. I love that I get to see the difference I help make in all the children's developmental stages. This will be my second full year working at Miss Patti's. I look forward to the year ahead and new adventures as a preschool teacher.
